Volunteers are essential to the success of The Mask Project, and to the mission of The Denver Hospice.

The Mask Project’s online auction of hundreds of masks and generous community sponsorships raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for end-of-life care provided by The Denver Hospice, and we need your volunteer support to make this year’s Project a success!

Volunteers must attend a training and sign up for shifts which are available before, during and after the Project dates in the volunteer roles listed below.  Shift signup will take place at or after training.  We ask that each volunteer sign up for at least two shifts.  Shifts range in length from 3 to 3.5 hours.

Volunteer Roles

  1. Gallery Set Up and Tear Down – Assist with transporting masks, assembling the display apparatus and hanging masks for display as well as dismantling the display.
  2. Docent Shifts – Volunteer docents are the face of the project to the public at Cherry Creek Shopping Center.  Answer questions about the Project, the masks themselves, and how to bid online to support The Denver Hospice.
  3. On Call Docents – Be available to fill in for last minute docent shifts.
  4. Mask Distribution – Assist with distributing masks and accompanying premiums to the winning bidders, at The Denver Hospice office after the Project and by mail.
